What is Hypnotherapy?

The definition of hypnosis has been defined as a state of focused attention that allows one to reach the subconscious mind. Hypnotherapy is using communication techniques during hypnosis to assist the subconscious mind in a way to bring about intentional alterations to your thoughts, emotions, and behavior patterns.

Hypnotherapy works with the subconscious mind which is where all your memories of all your life experiences that hold the keys to your belief patterns, expectations, emotions, and behavior patterns. By accessing this knowledge stored in the subconscious mind, we can work together to eliminate the discomforts and limitations including fears, phobias, and fears.

Hypnotherapy is the fastest way known to change your life. It allows you to reprogram your own brain programs to make your desired lifestyle changes. Just as you learn in school how to do certain essential living skills such as reading and writing, in hypnotherapy you learn how to program yourself for your desired goals. Hypnotherapy can be your instruction manual to learning to use your own innate powers within.

Have you ever wondered why some seem to always make the right choices, achieved more success or seem to live a life of pure joy and YOU struggle with all of it? Your choices, your achievements and your happiness are a reflection of what your beliefs are. Your beliefs are set up in your subconscious mind. All the affirmations and positive self-talk may not be enough to shift your belief patterns keeping you “stuck” in the same old behavior patterns.

What hypnotherapy is not!

  • Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy is not some mystical power a therapist has over your mind. The fact is that hypnosis is not mystical nor is it mind control. You are aware and awake and are able to monitor all that is being suggested to you. YOUR minds have the ULTIMATE control over what is accepted and rejected during any session.
  • People are asleep or unconscious in hypnosis. The fact is that when a person is in a hypnotic state they are full awake and aware – to impart profound change the subconscious mind needs to be communicating with the conscious mind. The exception is that small children sometimes will actually doze off during hypnosis; yet, even in small children their subconscious mind is open enough to receive suggestions.
  • You won’t remember any suggestions or anything that was done during hypnosis. The fact is that you may not remember every word that was spoken; however, the purpose of hypnotherapy is communication between your conscious and subconscious mind. Your conscious mind will remember the majority of that conversation, just as you would remember a majority of a conversation you had with a partner or friend.

Challenges and negative patterns can become overwhelming, confusing and even paralyzing. YOU can make a change.
